Pull Up a Chair

One question that comes up every four years is “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” We know what’s going on, the one wanting to be President is communicating that you are not better off and most people would agree.

We are living in a day of fear, great uncertainty, and a great deal of stress. In one publication I recently read, the author wrote, ”Our world is spinning out of control, from a human point of view. Homes are being devastated by divorce and dysfunction. Lives are being ravaged by addiction, greed and lust. Trust is being lost. Love is hard to find. Few look to the future with hope; most look at the present with fear.”

What we all need is a fresh sense of hope, to know someone loves us unconditionally, and that we are people of value and great worth. C.S. Lewis wrote that self-reliance is our greatest enemy. "To what will you look for help if you will not look to that which is stronger than yourself?"

Here at First Baptist Church, Center we know that we are not a perfect people but we serve a perfect God.  He loves us unconditionally and we seek to love others unconditionally because real hope is found in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
